How to File a Comment

A brief step by step instruction guide

HAVE YOUR FERC ID HANDY

You will have a FERC ID, if
you filed as an intervener or have filed previously.
 
 
Forgot your FERC ID?


              Click HERE
If you have intervened or commented before you should have recieved a FERC ID #.
If you do not have it you can enter your email address you used to file.
Step 1
If you have commented before or are an intervner;
  • You click on "eComment" or "eFiling"   
Use eComment for you want to type while on the FERC website;
Use eFiling if you have a word document, photos or PDFs you want to upload.​​

Step 2
In the first column "How is your filing to be directed?" 
  • You click "General"   
The second column will appear."What kind of filing are you making?
  • Here you click on "Comment (on Filing,Environ, Report ... )" 
The third Column "Filing Type"
  • Here you click "Comment"
Then hit "Next"- located below the third column.

Step 3
Look for where it says "Enter the docket number" 
  • Enter   CP15-558   
Then click the "Search" button next to the docket number

The Docket and description will appear-
  • Go to ​Step 4

Step 4
On the right side of the screen you will see a blue plus sign. 
  • You click Blue Plus sign to select the information to the right of the plus sign. 
Look towards the bottom of the screen
  • Click on "Next"

Step 5
If you've  selected "eFiling" in Step 1 you will be able to upload any word documents, photos, or PDFs. 
  • You click " Choose File"- browse your computer to find the files you want to upload. 
Then add a brief description of you comment- i.e. safety concerns, envirnomental concerns, etc
  • Next  click on  "Upload"- located next to you description.
​Now you should be able to see your Filename and your Description (see image on left) 
  • Leave the rest unchecked  and click " NEXT"

Step 6
Specify Filing Parties" 
  • Click " As an Individual" 
  • Then click "Next"

Step 7
In the first column "Specify the person to whom communitcations should be addressed" 
  • Enter your  email address in the box "Contact eMail" 
  • In some instances you may need to click "Add as Signer
  • Now click "Next"

Step 8
Review - your information such as name, your comment file, your description and your email
  • Then click "Submit"   
And you're DONE!
